The New York Fast Pitch League was formed in late 1994 for the 1995 season. The original six teams, disenchanted with the existing leagues in Manhattan, started the NYFPL. The league operates as a modified fast pitch league, with all games on the Great Lawn, Central Park.

The New York Fast Pitch League makes an annual contribution to the Central Park Conservancy for the support and maintenance of the softball fields within Central Park. We work closely with Parks & Recreation and in past years raised $10,000 each year to support youth programs for children of New York City through the City of New York/Parks & Recreation. To date, the New York Fast Pitch League has donated $172,540.
